London Thames River Tour with City Cruises

A while back I was kindly invited by City Cruises to hop aboard one of their sightseeing boats and take a gentle cruise down the River Thames. Arriving in London Waterloo for an 18:30 departure, I was greeted by friendly staff and a complimentary glass of bubbly, before being shown around the lower deck, upper deck, and bar area.

Grabbing a seat downstairs, we listened to the Captain give a safety talk, then introduce a jazz musician who played the saxophone for the duration of the trip. I spent the majority of the tour on the upper deck, where you could watch the sun set and chat to the crew, but I also headed downstairs to sample some of the delicious canapés and buy myself a cheeky mojito!

The tour lasted for a pleasant two and a half hours, with food coming at regular intervals throughout. It was a great place to meet new people and make interesting conversation, and a novel way of seeing London’s greatest sights! The staff were extremely professional and very friendly, and the boat had good facilities, making it a lovely evening out in the capital. Big thanks to City Cruises for inviting me along and providing such a fantastic service!
